Regardless of the user Corrin can also debuff enemies with draconic hex and when engaged freeze them and adjacent allies in place with any attack-this works against bosses too. It should be obvious how useful being able to summon whatever is needed for any situation can be. The fog also impedes enemy movement which makes these units fantastic for holding chokepoints-even if a choke is >1 tile wide enemies will often try to find another path anyway because they can't get through the fog.Īlear meanwhile can summon ice to block off enemies, fog for the same purpose explained above, fire to damage and impede enemy movement, and water to lower enemy avoid. Her twin strike is also corrupted effective which is handy for taking down wyrms.Ĭorrin is a very powerful support tool which imo works best on either coverts (can summon fog every turn) or Alear (can summon one of several different terrain types of your choice every turn).Ĭoverts get +60 avoid in the fog, which combined with a +avoid engrave will usually drop all enemies hit 0 on them. It's a weird mix of skills, it seems like an Emblem that can fit a lot of roles, but not really make any of them crazy.Įirika is pretty general purpose and basically provides a damage buff to any physical unit, so you can throw her on whoever is still missing an emblem. The small magic boost could maybe complement a unit using magic based weapons in Ephraim state to gain back a little more health, but it's at odds with Eirika's defense piercing damage being physical only. This isn't something I've experimented with much, but I imagine there can be some good combos with it. This means a low damage knife user can pierce and still apply poison, and then that easily starts a chain of all knife users applying poison.Įphraim state can probably be useful on high damage or tanky units, health recovery on player phase can make them self sufficient. Also buffs magic and res, but these are all bonuses more than anything else, and the utility tools are the main use of the Emblem imo.Įirika's defense based damage is a nice bonus, and it ignores enemy defense, so it lets someone that would deal 0 damage hit. These can be very useful on ranged units.Ĭorrin buffs HP massively, so can add some survivability. When engaged she can reduce enemy movement to zero, and at high bond will also debuff all an enemy's basic stats by 4. I haven't really experimented with the other Dragon Veins, but Corrin is also very useful for debuffing enemies. This can be very useful by just creating a wall enemies can never cross, and with the right choke points will just leave them bunched up for long range units to pick off. Maybe I just don't have them bonded up enough to give them better skills though.Ĭorrin's fog for coverts can push them well above any enemy's hit if they also have an avoid engraving. Corrin's AoE stuff keeps on seeming to be underwhelming (maybe I should switch her to a different unit) and Eirika seems like a one trick pony in terms of busting larger high defense units. All of the other earlier game Emblems also all make sense to me in what they should be doing, but I'm just not sure what to make of those two. Byelth and Lyn are life savers, and Ike and Lucina work well in a pinch (Ike a bit more than Lucy) and the two DLCs are both super over powered it seems. ![]() ![]() I'm still not quite sure what I should really be doing with Corrin and Eirika's Emblem's. It probably helps that I'm playing on hard and not maddening though since there were some questionable units that they targeted at times. If it weren't for dancers and about three of those spots that give you that sweet sweet emblem juice, I wouldn't have pulled that off at the point that the last three bosses plus one dragon all rushed in. But then all the other bosses and the dragon things just keep pilling on and on. ![]() Like the premise is pretty difficult to handle at first, but then Grim makes you think everything will be easy since he can be beat up on his own and he basically kills himself by warp ragnaroking into you.
